About Texas tone amps

BUILDING ONE AMP AT A TIME

Founded in 2011 as Blumentritt Amplification, Texas Tone Amps began as a small amp builder in Austin, Texas.  Over the years, we have become known for providing top-quality guitar amps as personal signature items.

Quality Component Selection

Our workshop

This is where is all happens.  All the designing and building, and all the testing happens right here in our workshop nestled in Austin, Texas.   We use the "Build to Print" method with full scale 1:1 layout diagrams to ensure error-free work.

A Winning Lineup - Built to Last

Springing from a life-long quest for better tone, Texas Tone Amps has been hand-crafting great tone since 2011 in Austin, Texas.  Each amplifier is a true labor of love, built with the highest-quality components and MIL-Spec parts and QA - for players who crave tone.

Whether it's shimmering cleans or high-gain leads, models such as the Texas Tone 12, Texas Tone 30, and Texas Tone Ranger exemplify boutique craftsmanship, versatility, and most of all, honest tone, rugged simplicity, and real musical soul— tone you can feel with character and depth, made for the tone-obsessed guitarist.  Amps that are:

  • Toneful - This is what great amps are all about. Your Tone Matters!
  • Responsive - Amps designed to respond to the guitarists style, guitar, and pedals.
  • Dynamic - Careful selection of component values and voltages allow a full range of expression.
  • Low Noise - Component selection and sound electrical grounding techniques provide a low noise floor.
  • Rugged - we follow NASA-STD-8739.3 for turret board vibration and high temperatures compliance and use stainless steel fasteners throughout.
  • Military and Commercial spec'd: MIL-W-22759/16 wire; MIL-R-10509F resistors, MIL-I-24786/27 turret boards, IEC 60115-1, AEC-Q200; UL 94 V-0 for flammability; AEC-Q200 stress resistance for passive electronic components.

Designer and builder, Bruce

Building tube amps is my passion.

I’m Bruce — a lifelong musician, a computer systems engineer, and relentless tone chaser.  Texas Tone Amps started as a personal pursuit: I wanted the sound I heard in my head to come alive in the room. Big. Honest. Musical. And completely mine.

Every amp I build carries a piece of my heart — my hands-on experience, my quest for excellence, my desire to hear what I feel. Texas Tone Amps are built one-at-a-time, each amp being a labor of love and a unique piece - even standard production models - and based on customer input.  One amp turned into a few. A few turned into several more. Pretty soon, players started asking, “Where is that tone coming from?”  I’ve spent years studying amp design, and I strive to learn something new every day.

My goal is simple: to build the best amp possible for players who appreciate classic vintage tone and feel, coupled with modern electrical engineering and quality standards.  Amps that are built with care and attention to detail.

I build amps that are made to be played.  Made to be heard.  And made to be yours.  Because in the end, your tone is your voice.  And your tone matters.

Thank you for choosing Texas Tone, and for being part of this journey for tone you can feel.
